This year The Big Birding day was won by Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the runners up was Mt.Elgon National Park.

The African Birding Expo was held between 18th to 20th November, 2016 at the Botanical Gardens Entebbe. During the Expo, NatureUganda announced the results of the Big Birding Day that was held on November 12th, 2016. NatureUganda recorded 768 bird species during BBD. A total of 28 teams took part in BBD. The species were seen in both protected and non protected areas. Queen Elizabeth National Park registered more species this year (372) followed by Mt Elgon National Park (285) and Murchision Falls NP (233) See results below:
